Load Calculator

G'day everyone!
My previous objects of scrutiny were connected with routes and cargo tracking. But, as you know, prior to carriage the goods must be packed and stored into some kind of tare, i.e. container, truck etc. The result of calculating the precise number of units without appropriate program may sometimes be erroneous, which means time wasting. To avoid such situations, you can use our application called Load Calculator.

At first select the type of equipment - container or truck in which the cargo will be carried:

Then select the type of packing: boxes, bigbags, barrels or sacks:

Next enter cargo data for stuffing.

Then you have to specify, whether the cargo will be stowed into transport directly or will be previously palletised.

State the container dimensions and its tonnage. You may add up to 20 containers.

Select position of load applicable to your cargo.

Finally, the results! The table will provide you with information regarding which container (or truck) is used, how much cargo was stored in it, total cargo volume and weight. You can also find out how was the packing process performed - by blocks or step by step, this will be displayed graphically.

Load Calculator can be used not only on our website. If you wish, you can purchase it for your company's website too. For further info please visit: Load Calculator

Where is my cargo?

It is quite clear that transportation is not an end itself, but a means to an end, the goal being to deliver specific cargo to the right place at the right time. With goods traveling very long distances there came necessity to trace their location to stay sure that the carriage is performed normally. In my previous post I described software which allows to specify the location of containers. But transporting doesn't mean using ships only, it also involves railways, trucks and planes and our IT solution called Where is my cargo allows to take into account these modes of transport.

This is how our Schedule & Routings system works

Before starting any description, I should say that you must be a registered user on our website.
So, after completing registration click "Virtual office"-> "Contacts" to start working with this system .

After that you'll see a list of your contacts. For your own convenience you may store them in specific folders.

In my example there are a couple of contacts already created. To create a contact, click on the orange button and fill in the data required:

After that you will be able to create bookings, namely plotting various routes. To start, click on the small box next to the necessary contact and select "Create new booking".

Fill in the booking number and double-click on the row.

Route points can be added in the "Schedule" table below. Coherently specify the locations which the cargo will pass, choose the shipping type (mode of transport which will deliver the cargo there) and enter due dates.

Voila! The whole route appears on the map, showing you the route, current cargo position and route direction. In my case the cargo is carried by rail from Diyarbakir to Istanbul, Turkey, then by air from Istanbul to Dunkirk, France, by sea from Dunkirk to New York, USA and by truck from NY to Springfield, Missouri.

Apart from tracking cargoes you can also calculate the possible revenue and set currency exchange rate.

As you can see, Where is my cargo is rather convenient and simple in use. Wanna try it? Go for it :)

Container Tracking System

In my first post I will tell you about our Container Tracking System

This software is designed specially for websites of freight forwarding and logistics companies. By using it you - and your clients, which is even more important - will have an opportunity to track and trace the location of specific container, determine the port and time spent in port of congestion. Let me show you how convenient and easy it is.

Container Tracking at work

As you can see on the screenshot, Container Tracking is provided with a map and a small table in the top right corner. To find out where your cargo is, you have to choose the shipping line and specify the container number.
There are eleven lines available for you to choose, including such companies as Maersk, ZIM, CMA CGM etc.

After you've filled these two fields, click on the GO! button and you'll find out the following information:
1) ports of loading and discharging;
2) container route;
3) route direction;
4) current container position;
5) transit time.

In the situation given you can see that the container is delivered from Ningbo (China) to Odessa (Ukraine). Its route is shown by the orange line. The red dot in a red circle shows its current position (Aegean Sea) and another dot shows the route direction. The transit time is a figure is displayed on a small green foursquare.

As you can see, using Container Tracking is not that difficult. But simplicity is not the only advantage of this system. When visiting a website with container tracking, the client gets an opportunity to complete the request and establish new business ties, which is extremely important in such business as freight forwarding.
